Founder & Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Monique Torgerson
Monique Torgerson, Chief Operating Officer
Monique Torgerson is the Chief Operating Officer and founder of Able Academics. With 28 years of experience in education, combined with 16 years of leading her own company, Monique has been pivotal in driving the growth of Able Academics.
Before establishing Able Academics, she began her career as a kindergarten teacher, teaching students from kindergarten through eighth grade for seven years. She then elevated her impact by becoming a college professor, where she taught graduate students in Educational Leadership at Fielding University in Santa Barbara, CA, for eight years. Monique's deep passion for the education system led her to serve as a school administrator for three years.
Monique is also the creator of the acclaimed “Brain in a Box” game series, which originated as her doctoral dissertation. This curriculum series gained international recognition and was a finalist for Learning Magazine's Toy of the Year.
Driven by her compassion and dedication to education, Monique is committed to creating unique learning experiences for underserved student populations, particularly families affected by autism and other learning differences.
Outside of her work at Able Academics, Monique enjoys being a devoted mother to her six children and two stepchildren, cherishing her time with her family.
